How to Install a Kitchen Sink

A new kitchen sink improves your daily routine. Choose sinks and appliances you enjoy. Your kitchen sink must be practical and attractive. If your sink is too small or outdated, upgrade to a more convenient and stylish one. KENT can install it at https://kent.ca/en/installation-services, or visit your local KENT Project Centre for the right tools.

Measure

  • Before starting any demolition, consult our Project Centre for guidance on the exact measurements needed for your new sink. These measurements will affect the decision between a drop-in or undermount sink, any plumbing changes, and whether you want a single or double sink.
  • After confirming your measurements, select the perfect kitchen sink at KENT.

Getting Started

  • Before beginning demolition, shut off the water supply and disconnect the supply lines. Have a bowl or bucket ready to catch any remaining water.
  • Then, use a wrench to gently loosen any attached nuts.
  • If you’re also replacing your faucet, do this after the supply lines are disconnected. Remove old caulking and attachments under your countertop at this point.
  • Pry up the edges carefully to avoid damaging the countertop, then remove them. If the old sink is usable, donate it to a local charity.
  • Ask our Project Centre for help with each step. Always follow manufacturer instructions. Installation details vary by sink and countertop.
