The Y connector is very usable when you want to tie in more rooflines to one downspout. Sometimes you are restricted by construction and sometimes it is just more aesthetically appealing. You have a great allowance on your incoming angle (50°-80°) giving you lots of flexibility. The Y connector has an expanded top and preshrunk bottom end. This makes it fit perfectly into the downspout. Like all other downspout related products, the overlaps are 2". There is no need for caulking or putting any rivets or screws into the Y connector. This keeps the inside of the product smooth and water flows freely.
