Double post cap/base features 18 gauge steel construction with G90 zinc finish for corrosion protection. It easily connects 4 in x 4 in post to a 2 ply beam and offers double shear nailing between them for strong connection. It allows easy installation using 10d common nails or #9 x 1-1/2 in strong-drive SD screws.
- Provides a positive connection for a post to a wood deck
- Stronger than angled nailing or screw fastening
- Reduces the chance of the post splitting while eliminating nailing into end grain
- Not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
