For this project you will need:
Mitre Saw | Measuring Tape |
Stud Finder | 16g Nail for Thick Trim (18g for Thin Trim) |
Desired Trim Size & Style (showing 1x6 Primed Pine) | Nail Gun |
Appropriate Safety Equipment | Pencil/Marking Tool |
Step 1
Measure the length of the wall you want your trim to go on. Locate studs with a stud finder and mark them out accordingly. This is where you will nail the trim to the wall.
Step 2
Set mitre saw to cut trim at 45 degree angle. This allows you to have a nice finished edge when connecting with another piece of trim.
Step 3
Push the trim down flush with the floor while driving one nail into the top and bottom of the trim. Remember to set the nail where your studs have been previously marked.
Step 4
Repeat step 3 throughout desired area and, upon completion, fill nail holes/board transitions, caulk and paint.
