For this project you will need:
2x4 Wood | 2 3/4" tapcons |
3 1/4" nails | Measuring tape |
Drill | Nail gun |
Mitre saw | Appropriate Safety Equipment |
Step 1
Measure your space to make sure it’s square and use a laser to mark where you want your wall line. Lay down sill gasket foam to protect wood from moisture in concrete.
Step 2
Place your cut 2x4’s on top to create your bottom plate along your wall line. Drill tapcons into concrete to secure wood.
Step 3
Attach your cut 2x4’s onto ceiling strapping and put up your wall sides creating a picture frame effect.
Step 4
On bottom plate, mark placement of studs measuring 16” on centre. Secure each 2x4 stud in place with 3 1/4” nails.
Step 5
Once studs are attached to your bottom and top plates, cut your blocking and attach halfway up your studs.
It should look like this when framed...
...and can look like this when finished!
