An associate since 1991, Darren has been all over the Maritimes in various roles with Kent during his career. From sales to management, he has tried his hand at many different corners of the business but he found himself drawn back to his one true passion, sales.
Building trust and friendship is the most important aspect of the job for Darren, and fostering that mutual respect is what he takes the most pride in while working in sales. That feeling of comradery extends to his coworkers too, as welcoming new hires and mentoring newer sales associates is a passion of his.
Darren greatly appreciates any customer feedback he gets and with over 150 star letters to his name, he’s received a lot of it. A simple call from a customer just to say thank you is the sort of thing that reminds him how much he loves working with people. To succeed in sales Darren says, “You have to have a passion for the business and you must truly care about your customers and their shopping experience.”
Though his work is fast paced, in his personal life Darren prefers to take it slower and he says living in Yarmouth, NS with its scenic landscapes and ocean views gives him the more relaxed feeling that he’s looking for.
